Introduction
The transition from the busyness of the day to the rest of the night is a vital time for spiritual reflection. A bedtime prayer serves to formally hand the events of the day back to God, acknowledging His presence in both the triumphs and the failures. It is an opportunity to practice gratitude, confess sins, and intentionally release the burdens you carry. Sleep itself is an act of trust—a physical reminder that we are finite creatures who need rest, while our Creator never slumbers nor sleeps. By praying before bed, you entrust your subconscious mind and your physical safety to the Lord, preparing your body for restful, restorative sleep.

The Prayer
Merciful Creator, as the day comes to a close, I pause to reflect on Your goodness and faithfulness. Thank You for the grace that sustained me today, for the moments of joy, and for Your protection. I bring before You the failures of this day—the words spoken in haste, the tasks left undone, and the selfish thoughts I harbored. Please wash me clean through the blood of Jesus. I now release the burdens, worries, and unresolved issues of today into Your capable hands. I cannot fix everything, but I trust that You are sovereign over it all. As I lie down to sleep, grant me peaceful rest. Guard my home and my loved ones through the night. Let my body be restored and my soul be refreshed, so that I may awake tomorrow ready to serve You anew. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
